WAYF's fact sheets now available as PDF

WAYF has, in the course of time, published a number of fact sheets, in print. These are now available in a machine-readable form (PDF) as well, here.

WAYF launches new proxy infrastructure for IdPs

Institutions (IdPs) connected to WAYF can now be contacted directly (via SAML2), as a new infrastructure component, BIRK (Bridged Interface for Remotely Keyed IdPs), is now available. BIRK is described at What is BIRK?.

A service may now list relevant IdPs locally, thereby avoiding user redirects to the long IdP list at WAYF.

New WAYF attribute: Countries of Citizenship

A new attribute specifying an identity's countries of citizenship was added to WAYF's inventory of attributes on the 14th of November 2011.

WAYF nominated for the NOVAY Digital Identity Award

WAYF has been nominated for the NOVAY Digital Identity Award (see http://www.novay.nl/news/nominees-novay-digital-identity-award-2011/12476. The winner will be announced at the Identitidy.NEXT meeting the 9th of November 2011 in The Hague, Holland.

JANUS released in version 1.10.0

JANUS released in version 1.10.0 at http://code.google.com/p/janus-ssp.

JANUS (Joint Administration Net-based User Self-service) is an open-source, full-featured metadata registry administration module built on top of SimpleSAMLphp. JANUS enables self-service of registering SAML entities. Key features are:

  • Full workflow support;
  • highly configurable UI;
  • highly configurable metadata interface;
  • full support for notifications on state changes;
  • entity edit and user updates;
  • highly customizable export functionality;
  • built-in validation of metadata and certificates.

SimpleSAMLphp passed the Kantara Initiative SAML 2.0 Full-Matrix Interoperability Testing

SimpleSAMLphp, used and co-developed by WAYF, has passed the Kantara Initiative SAML 2.0 Full-Matrix Interoperability Testing.

WAYF and Kalmar2 described in paper

Susan Landau and Tyler Moore, Harvard University, will later this month present a paper on the economics of federated identity management at the Tenth Workshop on Economics of Information Security (WEIS 2011). Both WAYF and Kalmar2 are described.

WAYF attended the first general assembly of SSEDIC

WAYF attended the first general assembly of SSEDIC, Scoping the Single European Digital Identity Community in Leuven, Belgium on the 15th of March 2011. WAYF is 'associate partner' to SSEDIC, which is sponsored by the European Commission to help framing eID initiatives as part of the 2020 plan.

WAYF has been accepted as associate partner for SSEDIC Thematic Network for Universal eID, a project supported by the CIP – ICT Policy Support Programme of the European Commission.
