SOSU Nord now a WAYF identity provider

SOSU Nord (Social and Health College of North Jutland) has just joined WAYF as an identity provider. The school's IT provider, IT-Center Nord, completed the technical integration today. Staff and students here consequently have the ability to access web services accepting WAYF login, using their familiar school login credentials.

VUC&hf Nordjylland now a WAYF identity provider

VUC&hf Nordjylland (Adult Education Centre & Higher Prep Exam Course for North Jutland) has just joined WAYF as an identity provider. The school's IT provider, IT-Center Nord, has completed the technical integration today. Staff and students at VUC&hf Nordjylland consequently have the ability to access web services accepting WAYF login, using their familiar institutional logins.

Tech College Aalborg now a WAYF identity provider

Dania Business Academy has joined WAYF

Dania – Danish Academy of Business and Technology has now joined WAYF as an identity provider. Other institutions sharing the operator IT Center Nord will follow soon.

Former MUST attribute 'mail' now a MAY attribute

Many of WAYF's identity providers are unable to deliver e-mail addresses for their users. The reason is that many institutions no longer run e-mail systems of their own, and so are no longer able to deliver this kind of information. As a result, WAYF now changes the official status of the mail attribute, from MUST to MAY. WAYF thus no longer guarantees its connected services the delivery of a valid e-mail address for every user attempting to log in.

Mecenat student discounts through WAYF

Students from a range of educational institutions now have the ability to confirm, through WAYF, their student status with Mecenat, thereby obtaining access to purchasing discounted items from Mecenat's business partners. Educational institutions with an interest can get further information from This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it of Mecenat (phone +45 2851 2171).

PeopleXS now a WAYF service

People employed at institutions using e-recruitment solutions from peopleXS now have the ability to log into the peopleXS online service using their institutional login, through WAYF. In case of interest, contact peopleXS for further information.

WAYF turns 5 years old

On the 28th of March, last week, it was 5 years ago since WAYF was launched.

Unfortunately the date fell on a national holiday, which is why there was no celebration.

WAYF introduced as 'most advanced identity system in the Western world'

At the OIX Public-Private Partnership Summit in Washington in February 2013, WAYF was introduced in the opening of the meeting by Don Thibeau, Founder & Chairman of OIX, as ‘the most advanced identity system in the Western world’.

WAYF to hold housewarming at ITU

The WAYF Secretariat will host a housewarming event on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, 3-4,30 PM, 7 Rued Langgaards Vej, 5th floor, room 5B09.

Snacks and fluids will be served, in a cosy atmosphere, for those curious to have a look at WAYF's (and thus DeIC's) new residence, in the IT University of Copenhagen.

Horsens Gymnasium has joined the WAYF identity federation today.

Metapress now a WAYF service

Academic e-publisher Metapress has just completed implementation of WAYF login for its online services. Consequently, people affiliated with Danish institutions subscribing to the Metapress service now have access to the publisher's online scholarly literature through their familiar institution login.

WAYF statistics available on web

At http://rasmus.wayf.dk you can now follow how WAYF is being used. Number of users and logins are available, for various periods and with different time resolutions.

White paper on WAYF consent management

A white paper on the consent functionality, design considerations and descriptions, legal aspects etc. is now available at the WAYF web site, here.

Fourth WAYF fact sheet published

Approximately once a year, WAYF publishes a short leaflet on select new features and business cases. The fourth of these fact sheets has just been released and is available as a PDF here.

WAYF has moved to Ørestad

As part of the transfer from the Danish Agency for Culture to Danish e-Infrastructure Collaboration the WAYF Secretariat has moved to Ørestad, to the 5th floor in the IT University of Copenhagen.
