The online version of the renowned journal New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) is now available in WAYF through the eduGAIN collaboration. NEJM is one of the world’s leading medical journals, providing access to groundbreaking research, clinical studies, and new knowledge within the health sciences.
Danish research and educational institutions that are connected to WAYF and hold a license for NEJM now have the opportunity to let their students and staff access NEJM using their familiar institutional login – without each institution having to carry out any technical integration or conduct a risk assessment of the service’s handling of login information. With WAYF, institutions licensed for NEJM also do not need to spend resources maintaining a separate connection to the journal – while their students and staff still enjoy single sign-on in the browser for all web services they access via the institution’s login system.
This simple option for accessing NEJM has been made possible through the international login collaboration eduGAIN — where WAYF has enabled users with accounts at WAYF-connected institutions to access NEJM via our British sister federation, the UK Access Management Federation.
Central Denmark Region is the first institution to take advantage of this effortless access to NEJM. Institutions wishing to make use of the opportunity simply need to contact their NEJM representative and inform them that they wish to enable access to their NEJM license through eduGAIN. In principle, that is all it takes – though institutions are, of course, welcome to involve the WAYF Secretariat for assistance.
