The WAYF Office at Lyngby operates and develops the WAYF systems, including support functions for managing and monitoring the infrastruture.
The infrastructure platform on which WAYF runs is operated and monitored by NORDUnet, a Danish company owned by the Nordic NRENs.
WAYF's systems are operated exclusively in Denmark, ensuring that data processed by WAYF remain on Danish soil and that the processing is covered by Danish legislation.
Central WAYF systems that are considered critical to the availability of basic WAYF functionality are operated in a redundant manner (servers, network, power), geographically separated on Zealand by 30 km.
Operation and maintenance of basic infrastructure (WMware, network etc.) is done from NORDUnet's Aalborg branch. The WAYF systems running on this basic infrastructure are operated and maintained from WAYF's office in Denmark.
