The cloud platform SimplyPrint, designed for managing 3D printers, has now joined WAYF. This means that institutions participating in WAYF and holding a license for the platform can give their users seamless access to SimplyPrint with their familiar institutional login – without the need for separate risk assessments of the service or the burden of creating and maintaining a single sign-on integration.
With SimplyPrint, users can launch, monitor, and manage print jobs remotely. The platform also offers a queue system, file management, AI-powered error detection, and dedicated tools tailored for schools and print farms.
The Danish startup SimplyPrint ApS, the company behind the platform, already serves a large international customer base and consequently has taken the step of making SimplyPrint available through eduGAIN as well. This way, SimplyPrint ApS achieves the same operational advantages with its foreign institutional customers as the company’s participation in WAYF provides with its Danish institutional customers – and likewise, it becomes just as easy for foreign institutions to establish single sign-on to SimplyPrint as it is for Danish ones.
In addition, SimplyPrint has had the service certified by WAYF as compliant with the REFEDS Code of Conduct. This certification signals to institutions within eduGAIN that the provider handles user data responsibly, in line with best practices and fully compliant with GDPR.
The first institutions to take advantage of the new login federation with SimplyPrint are Aarhus School of Marine and Technical Engineering and, via eduGAIN, TU Hamburg (TUHH).
