Speech-to-text service Amberscript has recently joined WAYF as a service provider. This means many of the Danish research and educational institutions buying Amberscript through DeiC, thus obtaining discounts, are able to offer their users easy access to this transscription service, i.e. through their familiar institutional logins. Without the institutions having to do any single-sign-on configuration themselves.
At the technical level, the provider of Amberscript has chosen to utilise its WAYF connection as its connection to all of its customer institutions in the Nordics, not just the Danish ones. This was made possible through the international eduGAIN cooperation, of which WAYF is part. This way Amberscript only needs to maintain its single-sign-on registration with WAYF, with no need to maintain separate registrations per customer country, or even per customer institution abroad.
